ANNIE KNIBB

Annie was born in the UK and has been based on Lamma island since 1995. She did a degree in modern Chinese studies, which took her to mainland China in the mid-1980s and later to Taiwan, India and Hong Kong. She is currently a freelance editor focusing on scholarly material, but her true love is art. She studied life drawing in London and yantra painting and temple art in Kovalam, India. She is now working mainly on portraits and miniature landscapes. She draws or paints every day. She has participated in various group exhibitions, contributing paintings, life drawings, collages, and found-object pieces. Her work is in private collections in the UK, US, Canada, Germany and Hong Kong.
